Matt Drury the General Manager of Drury Outdoors has been working hard to produce content that engages the outdoor & hunting enthusiasts! He has been able to work on many different projects over the years and has seen a lot of success in his ventures. We caught up with Matt to talk about his latest project called Critical Mass. Q - Matt thank you for taking the time to chat with us! Can you give us a preview of what Critical Mass is all about?
MATT - Drury Outdoors and Mossy Oak have teamed up to bring you a brand new reality hunting show. The creators of THIRTEEN, Dream Season, King of the Spring and Bow Madness are taking 12 individual contestants from across the country and pitting each of their seasons against one another to see who can ultimately be lifted up among their peers and reach Critical Mass!
The 12 contestants battle it out in an epic Extreme Archery competition to decide what order their episode will air. From there we follow the Challenger versus Defender format the rest of the season and watch as each week’s Challenger tries to prove their merit on the extreme archery course and more importantly, showcase to a jury of peers why their hunting season deserves to move on to the next round ultimately trying to reach episode 13 and Critical Mass!
The conversations that we have daily on social media will carry over to the show and be the basis for this brand new format! Keeping the conversation positive, lifting each other up, and ultimately trying to introduce new comers to our sport is the name of this game!
Q – Critical Mass isn’t like your typical hunting show out there, what gave you the idea to put this type of hunting show together?
MATT - We really felt the need to try something different. To put something out there that followed along with some of the more popular main stream shows you see on network TV. We have always been reality show junkies and Critical Mass is a perfect mix of hunting and that reality show vibe with the on set side of the show. The only difference, we keep things totally positive and uplifting throughout the entire show. We want to introduce new people into hunting and that’s where we felt like the Extreme Archery portion of the show would be a great addition!
Q – What has been your favorite thing about producing Critical Mass?
MATT - The challenge of stepping outside of our comfort zone and creating something bigger than anything we had ever done before.
Q – How has it been working with your cousin Taylor? It seems like you both have a good time together!
MATT- Always great when you can work with family and ultimately that is what our company was built on. Really seemed like just another day at the office!
Q – Any spoilers for us… who is your favorite to win?
MATT - I can’t give too much away, but I think you have to keep an eye out on the female cast members! They really weren’t messing around and are going to be tough to beat!

MATT - Critical Mass will air July 3rd on Tuesday nights 9:30 cst only on Outdoor Channel!
